From student to college

What Examplary does for the student, the teacher, the team and the college, following one module in a care program.

  1. StudentAll four qualification levels

    Practice situations from the job

Students practice cases from their future job, in class, at home or during their work placement. Every answer gets instant feedback: what's right, what's missing and how to improve. So they know where they stand, even when the teacher isn't there.

    • Practice questions from your own teaching materials
    • Cases and conversations from the workplace
    • Progress per topic, for student and teacher

    1.5×

as much material stays with students after a week when they test themselves instead of rereading it four times.

    Roediger & Karpicke, 2006
  2. TeacherTheory and practical teachers

Tests from your own materials, grading with the groundwork done

Upload a module or the material for a work process, and Examplary drafts a test with scoring criteria for every question. After the test, the AI suggests points and feedback for every answer, digital or on paper. You approve or adjust.

    • Questions at vocational level, focused on the workplace
    • Grading explained per criterion
    • See per topic who still needs help

    +38%

more consistent grading with Examplary than between teachers who mark the same answers.

  3. TeamFor program teams

Working on the same tests together

Teachers in a team work on the same test at the same time and share their material in shared folders. The whole team grades against the same criteria, and the material is ready for new colleagues and substitute teachers. While grading, you leave a comment on an answer and a colleague replies straight away.

    • Work on one test with colleagues at the same time
    • Shared folders per program
    • The same criteria for the whole team
  4. CollegeFor management, IT and privacy

Fits your college, with data in the EU

Staff and students sign in through Entree Federatie, SURFconext or your own single sign-on, for example Microsoft Entra ID. Tests go to Ans, or run in the Schoolyear secure browser. Data stays in the EU, and a teacher always has the final say.

    • Sign-in with Entree Federatie, SURFconext or your own identity provider
    • Integrations with Ans, Schoolyear and your learning platform
    • GDPR and AI Act compliant, with a data processing agreement

Works for every program

Every subject is assessed in its own way. Examplary has question types to match, from a conversation with a client to a calculation at the checkout.

Practicing a conversation with a client

The AI plays a client, like Mr. Bakker, who won't take his medication. Students practice the conversation as often as they like, before they have it for real.

Examination

Practice and tests, within your examination rules

In Dutch vocational education, the examination board decides how exams are made, delivered and assessed. Examplary mainly helps with everything around them: practice, formative tests and progress tests. If you also use it for summative tests, the teacher stays the assessor.

  1. 1

    Formative first

Practice spaces and progress tests show where students stand, without a grade attached.

  2. 2

    The teacher assesses

The AI makes a suggestion, explained per criterion. The teacher sets every grade.

  3. 3

    Your own criteria

Scoring criteria and rubrics come from your team, based on the qualification file or your own assessment model.

  4. 4

    On record

Every test has a version history and the workspace an audit log, so you can show who did what.

  • There's no national figure for the time vocational teachers spend on tests, so fill in your own estimate. For comparison: in Dutch secondary schools it's 8 hours a week on average (AOb, Teachers' Time Use, 2017).
  • Based on 40 teaching weeks a year and 1 FTE = 1,659 hours (Dutch vocational education collective agreement).
  • The saving is an assumption: the AI does the groundwork, the teacher checks every answer.

How to start

We help your college from the first conversation to college-wide use.

  1. In a demo we show Examplary with your own programs and materials. In the meantime, teachers can start on their own for free.

Start with one program team and a few modules, and expand once it works for you.

Questions from vocational colleges

Can't find your question? Email us at hi@examplary.ai.

  • That's up to your examination board. Examplary is built so the teacher always assesses: the AI makes a suggestion, explained per criterion, and the teacher sets the grade. You can also start with practice and formative tests, where the question doesn't come up.

  • You upload the material the questions should come from: a module, a work process description or an assessment model. Examplary writes questions and criteria from it, at vocational level. You change whatever isn't right.

  • Yes. Practice spaces work in the browser, on a laptop, tablet or phone. Students open them through a link or an email invite, practice whenever it suits them and get instant feedback.

  • The AI suggests a grade for every answer, explaining each criterion and how confident it is. The teacher decides. On the Mohler dataset, Examplary grades 38% more consistently than teachers do with each other.

  • Data is stored encrypted in Frankfurt, AI processing stays in the EU by default, and nothing is used to train models. Your college signs a data processing agreement with us. Under the AI Act, Examplary is classified as a high-risk system, with public documentation and a teacher who always decides.

  • Colleges use an organization license, priced per teacher. It includes single sign-on, the integrations and shared folders, among other things. Teachers can also start on their own for free first. In a demo we'll work out the numbers for your college.
